Hebrews 8

Just some notes and verses on Hebrews

NanoBanana Sanctuary 40 Tabernacle Earthly vs Heavenly CC-BY Pedro Quitério.upsc.CR.jpg

1-2- We are pointed to look to heaven where Jesus is set on the right hand of the throne of God. Not on earth, but in heaven. The Lord pitched this sanctuary and not Moses which he built on earth. FLB 202.1; EV 223

Isaiah 6:1-7 GW 21.3 Isaiah was in vision looking and beholding the temple and came to a realization that he was a man of unclean lips. As we look by faith in the sanctuary above we too should come to the realization that we are sinful and in need of a Saviour.

Repentance and pardon 1SM 343.4-344.3 Christ and the Holy Spirit are interceding in man’s behalf. The Holy Spirit pleads not for us as does Christ....

3-5- now that Jesus is in heaven as high priest He must have something to offer. Jesus is the lamb of God. While He was on earth He could not be priest because the other priest were doing the offerings according to the law. They serve as an example of what was suppose to be done in heaven. The Lord told Moses to make sure he makes everything according to the pattern shown him when he was in the mountain with a God. Which is where he got instructions to build the tabernacle and how to perform the services. Exodus 25:40; Acts 7:44. Our high priest offer gifts Ephesians 4:8, 11-13; 1 Corinthians 1:1, 4: Luke 11:13

6-13- Jesus has a more excellent ministry because it all pointed to Him. He is the mediator of a better covenant which was established upon better promises. The first covenant which had fault in it could not take away the sin for it was a type. If it had no fault then there would be no need for a second. Then Paul quotes Jeremiah 31:31-34
