2:3 - DA 131.2 - Never can the cost of our redemption be realized until the redeemed shall stand with the Redeemer before the throne of God... that He not only became an exile from the heavenly courts, but for us took the risk of failure and eternal loss.

2:9 - 1SM268-270 - Satan had succeeded so well in deceiving the angels of God, and in the fall of noble Adam, that he thought that in Christ’s humiliation he should be successful in overcoming Him. He looked with pleased exultation upon the result of his temptations and the increase of sin in the continued transgression of God’s law for more than four thousand years.

Jesus tasted death, this death was only a taste but it was a very bitter taste. Jesus said in Matthew 26:39 "let this cup pass" He had to taste the death and bear the sins of the world.
2:10 - Con 77.1 & 78.3 Heb 5:8,9 Christ remained perfect through suffering. What is the first thing we do when we suffer? Complain. Christ is the Captain of my salvation because He was perfect through suffering. Isaiah 53:11 The One sacrifice that brings perfect salvation. Because of His suffering He is more qualified than any other being to help fallen man just where he needed help. LHU 33.7. OHC 57.3 He felt both joy and grief...

2:14 - When a child is born in this world it is born with the sinfulness of flesh and blood. Satan knew that Jesus should take fallen man’s nature so he could over power him. EW 152.2.

This verse also expresses the accomplishment of the death of Satan. FW 73.4 John 12:31-32; 16:7-11; Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 2:4. "God so loved the world that He gave Himself in Christ to the world to bear the penalty of man’s transgression. God suffered with His Son, as the divine wing alone could suffer, in order that the world might become reconciled to Him." AG 161.5.

Not only did Christ accomplish the redemption of man and the condemnation of Satan (GC502.3), but He came to magnify the law and make it honorable. Isaiah 42:21 so we see that justice and mercy are the foundation of God’s throne Psalm 97:2; 99:4; Isaiah 16:4; Psalm 85:10

2:17 - There will be those that say Christ came in the nature before the fall. This verse says "in all things" what is the "in all things" ? AA 472.1. Jesus is the friend of sinners. The plan of redemption contemplates our complete recovery from the power of Satan. Christ always separates the contrite soul from sin. He came to destroy the works of the devil, and He has made provision that the Holy Spirit shall be imparted to every repentant soul, to keep him from sinning. 2 Timothy 2:19 there is no excuse for sinning. DA 311.2-3. In all things Christ was like us. So He can faithfully perform the duties of being a merciful and faithful high priest. Merciful because we know that God is acquainted with our trials and sympathizes with our griefs. DA 24.1

So the books of heaven are opened in the judgement. Their name will remain because they have repented and received forgiveness and the record of their good deeds will not be erased. FLB 212.2 Revelation 3:4,5

Christ being the Son of Man and the Son of God is perfect in each. This is why He is a faithful high priest. Christ prayed that we might be of that same nature and oneness as that existing between Himself and His Father. LHU 321.4 The prayer of Christ in John 17:20–21 is the prayer for this unity. Christ is asking His Father that we also be able to enter into all the purposes and counsels of the Father. The unity that exists between Christ and His disciples does not destroy the personality of either. They are one in purpose, in mind, in character, but not in person. It is thus that God and Christ are one. MH 422.1

Exodus 28:29-30 - Christ is bearing the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the Lord. Only Christ can make a perfect atonement for our sins. Christ is the minister of the true tabernacle, the high priest of all who believe in Him as a personal Saviour and His Office no other can take. TMK 74.3 Christ offers His spotless life, His death, the censer containing the prayers, confessions, and thanksgiving of His people along with his righteousness, it it wholly acceptable and the pardon covers all transgressions.
