3:1- We are called to consider Jesus Christ. Apostle and High Priest of our profession. Apostle means "sent of God" and Jesus is our High Priest. So from the time Jesus was sent to the earth to the time He finishes His work in the Most Holy Place. Galatians 4:4; John 20:21: 1 John 4:10, 14; John 3:34; 5:36-37; 10:36. Christ was really acquainted with temptations and resisted it. OHC 57.3. Study Jesus Our Pattern. 3SM 170.1. We are to honor God diligently by proclaiming the three angels’ messages. High Priest Heb 2:17; 4:14-15; Christ’s duty is to keep you from falling into temptation. Hebrews 2:18

 

3:2- Who has appointed Him that is faithful? 1:2 God is always faithful and He appointed Jesus who also was faithful and the comparison is to Moses. Moses was a type of Jesus. Numbers 12:7; 3:5. Moses was faithful in God’s house. He spake with him mouth to mouth. No visions or dreams. Jesus is faithful and more faithful than Moses because of His blood that was shed. 

 

3:3,4- Zechariah 6:12-13; 2 Cor 3:7-9 Moses build the type, Christ is the one who gave the instructions for the type because He has the antitype in heaven. The ceremonial law was connected to the meeting moral law. 6BC1095.2. The sanctuary was built by man here on the earth. Moses was told to make it according to the pattern. Exodus 25:9; 25:40; 1 Chronicles 28:15,19; Hebrews 8:5; God is the originator.

3:5- Moses was faithful as a servant and so was Jesus also a faithful servant. Deuteronomy 18:15; Philippians 2:7; Luke 24:27; John 5:46-47; Acts 28:23. Jesus was a prophet Matthew 13:57; 23:37; John 4:44

3:6- Jesus Christ who is over the sanctuary which we play a part in if we participate by holding fast the confidence. What is the confidence we need to hold? That Christ is our Hight Priest. For us today it is in Revelation 3:10 which is the third angels message. 

3:7,8- We must learn how to cooperate with the Holy Spirit. Our hearts must not be harden. Psalm 81:11,13; Isa 55:3; John 10:27; Rev 3:20; What is hardened your heart? Exodus 8:15; 2 Kings 17:14; 2 Chron 36:13; Zechariah 7:11-12 it is to doubt or disbelief in the Lord. Provocation Numbers 14:11, 22-23; Deut 9:22-24; Psalm 78:56; 1 Kings 21:21-22; 1 Kings 15:30; 16:26. Oftentimes when the children of Israel chide, murmured, or complained the Lord provided what they want. Exodus 17:2-7; 16:2-3,8-12; Psalm 81:7; Deut 6:16; Psalm 78:56; 106:14; 1 Corinthians 10:9; Mar 55.3, SC 34.1 one sinful desire will neutralize the gospel. Proverbs 5:22 you are Holden by cords of sins. Ecc 7:26 Please God and you shall escape. SC 34.2 Christ is ready to set us free from sin. UL 119.5-7. Let this be your prayer: Let the latter rain come into my vessel...UL 283.3-7
